O mankind! surely We have created you of a male and a female, and made you tribes and families that you may know each other- verily the most honored of you in the sight of Allāh is (he who is) the most righteous of you- surely Allāh is Knowing, Aware (al-Hujurat 49:13) Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen (may Allāh have mercy on him) says in his explanation of this hadith: Allāh does not look at the figures of His servants, if they are big or small, healthy or sick, nor at their looks if they are beautiful or not. He does not look at their lineage, whether it is prestigious or not, nor does He look at their wealth, or any of these factors at all. The only connection between Allāh and His servants is through Taqwa (righteousness), so whoever has more Taqwa of Allāh is closer and more honorable in the sight of Allāh. So do not be proud of your wealth, your beauty and body, your children, your mansions or cars, or with anything of these worldly matters at all. However, if Allāh has enabled you to be righteous and have Taqwa, then this is from the blessing of Allāh upon you, so thank Allāh and praise Him for it. Arrogance is from Shaytan... --------- About me, these things always seem contrived,and a tad narcissistic... With that said, here I go anyway! - Umar radhiyallahu anhu said that you only know a person if you have had dealings with them(business), lived with them or travelled with them. I strive to the best of my ability to follow the Quran and the sunnah with the understanding of the salaf. I-m a pretty laid back, relaxed and easy going. I like to have a laugh and joke with people, and can be quite witty, however I can be serious too. I think balance is important in all aspects, not just deen. Theres a time for this, and theres a time for that. To be honest, its hard not to talk about yourself and it end up not being a list, its best to speak with someone and then you get a better idea of their personality, so if you have any questions feel free to message me! In terms of hobbies I enjoy watching boxing, football (and playing)... I-d say I-m a bit of a movie buff, enjoy all types of films, from foreign, action, comedy to world cinema, but to be honest I dont watch too much TV (as contradictory as that sounds!)... I like staying active, I go to they gym, and run-cycle 3-4 times a week. I love walking, although its not always as scenic as I-d like it to be! In terms of seeking knowledge I enjoy reading, watching and attending lectures. Some of the authors I like reading are Ibn Tamiyyah, Bin Baz, Utaymeen, Albani, Ibn Qayyim, Fawzan and many more. My favourite book is probably The relief from distress by ibn tamiyyah I try attend brothers circles with students of knowledge, and lectures-talks in my local masjid. I enjoy travelling, and have been to a few places, not nearly as many as I’d like… Saudi (umrah a few times), Jerusalem, Egypt, Jordan, and the UAE, Morocco... Inshallah its something I want to do a lot more of with my wife.
