Aslamu Alaikum wa Rhamitalhee wa Baraktu, I was born and raised in the U.S. (where my parents and sisters still live). My parents are Arab (Egyptian father, Syrian mother) and for many years I thought I would become a physician like my father. Instead, I found an interest in finance and investments. However, I would later learn how difficult it is to work in the finance industry given the Riba (ususry) which is prevalent in the West. Alhamdulilah, I have never dated, drank alcohol, smoked, etc. I do not subscribe to cable television and I love to read books and acquire knowledge. I am an introvert and am not a huge fan of visiting people for long periods of time. I enjoy going to the gym and travelling. I am a fan of Sheikh Hamza Yusuf and (recently) Ustadth Nouman Ali Khan. There is no point in this life if we do not strive to achieve what we created to do. I wish, more than anything else, to reach Firdos Al-Ala -- bala hisab (without judgment). I enjoy laughing and I have a weakness in my love of movies (unfortunately). Though I am getting better at that. I try to perform sunnah acts of worship with the knowledge that the best act is that which is performed consistently. Hence, I try not to take on too much for fear of leaving an act. I have been married once before and Alhamdulilah my ex-wife and I parted on good terms. That experience taught me what is and isn-t important in a spouse. We did not have children. I will share my picture with serious candidates.
